Kubra Var Turk
Dr. Kübra Var Türk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Maritime Law at Ankara University Faculty of Law. She holds an LL.M. and a Ph.D. in private law (maritime law) from Ankara University. During her graduate studies, she conducted research at the University of London Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and Tulane University Maritime Law Center. Her research and teaching focus on maritime law and the law of the sea, including international carriage of goods, maritime contracts, autonomous ships, and the legal regime of marine living resources. She has participated in international fora, including meetings of the IMO Legal Committee (LEG) and ICCAT, as part of the Turkish delegation. She is the co-editor of several books, including Legal Status of Submarine Cables, Pipelines and ABNJ (2017), Legal Regime of Underwater Cultural Heritage and Marine Scientific Research (2020), and Türkiye’s Rights over Marine Energy Resources in the World (2024), and the author of Right of Control in Law on Carriage of Goods (2023, in Turkish).
