Ilias Diamantopoulos

Ilias Diamantopoulos is a PhD Candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Law. He conducts his doctoral research in the field of the law of the sea and international environmental law under the supervision of Professor Efthymios (Akis) Papastavridis. He holds an LL.M in Public International Law with a specialisation in the law of the sea and environmental law from Utrecht University, School of Law (‘cum laude’, Valedictorian) and a bachelor’s degree in International and European Studies with a major in Public International Law from Panteion University of Athens (‘Excellent’, Valedictorian). His research interests focus on the law of the sea and ocean governance, international environmental law, and history, theory and methodology of public international law. He has been a scholar of the Lilian Voudouri Foundation, the A.G. Leventis Foundation and the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He is also a member of the Hellenic Society of International Law and International Relations (HESILIR).
